Festival of wine in Bordeaux

The historical city of Bordeaux is to host a magnificent celebration of its major export this July, with a four-day festival of wine.

Over 300,000 people will descend on the French city to sample the delights of the Aquitaine region's wine and gastronomy at the Bordeaux Fete le Vin from June 29th to July 2nd.

The event will begin with a procession of wine-making brotherhoods, who will parade in fantastic colourful historical costumes to the Place de la Bourse, where the mayor will officially open the festival.

Wine lovers will have the opportunity to participate in tasting courses at the Bordeaux Wine Council, sampling the many numerous vintages of the region, while a master class is available for those with an already impressive knowledge of the drink.

Visitors thoroughly enjoy the team blind tasting event and the amazing barrel-rolling contest is a spectacle not to be missed!

With many vineyards to explore, live music from a wide range of performers, traditional regional cuisine on offer and an outstanding firework display as the closing event, the festival provides plenty of entertainment for all.
