Amsterdam's Heineken Experience set to reopen

24th October 2008

The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam is set to reopen on November 3rd, complete with a range of new features.

Housed in the old Heineken brewery, the Dutch tourist attraction has been open to visitors since 2001 and is now a National Monument, listed as an anchor point on the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

It has been closed for renovations since October last year and will include a range of new attractions when it reopens, including a mini brewery, a tasting bar and a stable walk which will tour the home of Heineken's famed Shire horses.

Visitors will also get the opportunity to bottle their own Heineken and take their personalised beer home.

The exhibit will expand to accommodate a growing number of visitors, with an extra floor being added.

During the course of the renovation, Hans Maris, manager of the Heineken Experience, commented that the improvements were looking "great".

"The museum continues to tell the story of the Heineken company and family, with of course the opportunity to enjoy a cold Heineken," he added.

"We’re looking forward to opening our doors again to the public."
