Midnight Flight to Georgia

March 1st, 2013

British Airways are stopping their flights to Tbilisi at the end of March and this prompted me to take a quick trip to Georgia to discover Tbilisi and Batumi, and take the train between the two cities. One advantage of Georgia is that it is visa free for EU country passport holders.

Stunning Switzerland

When I found out I was going to be travelling through Switzerland, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. All I knew about it was that the Swiss loved fondue and clocks. I was quite astounded at the sights I saw and it is a journey that I would thoroughly recommend.

All Aboard… The Overnight Train to Berlin

January 25th, 2013

As a traveller, I LOVE seeing new places. When I found out I was going to Berlin, I didn’t know what to expect. London to Lahti (and Stockholm, Copenhagen and Hamburg)

April 4th, 2012

I flew to Helsinki-Vantaa on a British Airways flight from London Heathrow. It took me 3 hours to get from rainy London to cold and snowy Finland. I had a lovely and traditional Finnish Christmas in Lahti with my family and friends. Lahti is my hometown as well as the home of Finland’s greatest footballer of all time, Jari Litmanen.

Crowne Plaza Brussels – Le Palace

April 4th, 2012

Strolling through the streets of Brussels at 9am on a Saturday morning is a surprisingly peaceful experience; it feels almost as if the city breathes a gentle sigh as it bids farewell to the throngs of corporate visitors before receiving an abundance of excited sightseers. It’s a beautiful time of day to make the walk from the Leopold district into the city centre, especially if you are lucky enough to do so on a sunny, spring day.
