Venice: some top tips to get the most from your holiday

I once wrote a description of Venice where I compared the city to one of its most infamous children, Casanova- “romantic, good-looking, decadent and a little bit mischievous”. If anything, my recent trip has consolidated this impression. There is a reason why Venice is so renowned; nothing else is quite like it. As one of the locals remarked to me, “It’s like living in an artwork.”

I have a confession.
I am a massive Agatha Christie fan. Always have been, always will be. It is genetic, inheriting it from my mother, who used to make me listen to Christie books on tape for any extended car trip.
