Press Release: Silk, Supper, Saône

Monday 18th August 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Romans knew a good thing when they saw one! If it’s fabulous food, spectacular silk and relaxing on the river you’re after, historic Lyon is where it’s at. Prices from £229 per person for 2 nights.

Get those taste buds tingling and sample traditional Lyonnaise food in one of the many restaurants of the old town, for food so good you will be seeing stars, Michelin stars that is.

From fine food to fine fabrics another of Lyon’s claim to fame is that it was once the centre of the European silk industry. If you want to see samples of silk work from the area as well as brocade from Marie Antoinette’s bedchamber visit the Musée des Tissus.

For a change of scenery spend a day on the River Saône with a relaxing river boat cruise and see this 2000 year old city from the water.

Visit Lyon with Railbookers and stay at the centrally located 3 * Grand Hotel des Terreaux from £229 per person for 2 nights including breakfast and return train travel.
