Press Release: Room to breathe in Venice

Friday 21st September 2007

This year consider visiting Venice “out of season” with a trip to this magnificent city in autumn or winter, when you can wander around this renaissance treasure without the thousands of tourists who arrive in summer and spring. Visiting the city in autumn and winter also provides respite from the heat of the summer months allowing you to enjoy all that beautiful Venice has to offer.

Enjoy an espresso on St Mark’s Square, then take a stroll over the famous Rialto Bridge or travel in true Venetian style and go under it on a gondola or Vaporetto. Marvel at the glittering frontage of St Mark’s Basilica and stock up on early Christmas presents on Venice’s main shopping street The Mercerie.

Make the most of your journey to Venice by travelling via Paris, and spend a night in this cosmopolitan capital, before enjoying the scenic journey to Venice. Alternatively travel via Switzerland, spend a night in Lausanne or Geneva and then sit back and relax as you go past the Swiss Alps and Italy taking in the countryside and the cities of Lugano, Como, Milan and Brescia before crossing the lagoon to arrive in Venice’s Santa Lucia Station, a short walk or vaporetti ride to many of Railbookers hotels.

Visit Venice with Railbookers from just £409 for 2 nights at the historic 3* Antiche Figure Hotel, including breakfast and return train travel. Alternatively you could stay at the contemporary 4* Palace Bonvecchiati Hotel from £479 for 2 nights accommodation including breakfast and return train travel. Relax in Renaissance splendour at the 5* Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa with its private garden, luxury spa and views over the Lagoon from £509 for 2 nights accommodation including breakfast and return train travel. Treat yourself to a stay at the 5* Bauer Il Palazzo Hotel, one of Venice’s most luxurious hotels dating back to the 18th century from £579 for 2 nights, including breakfast and return train travel.

So escape the crowds and enjoy a pre Christmas break in Venice with Railbookers.
