Press Release: Chocoholic Frolick

Tuesday 28th August 2007

For those who think chocolate is better than… well, anything else, it would be churlish to miss out on a trip to Cologne and its marvellous chocolate museum, The Schokoladenmuseum.

Worshippers of the humble cocoa bean can learn about the entire chocolate making process from the cacao plant to the shop floor. On your tour of the museum you will see the cacao plant in the Tropics Hall and the production unit which processes the cacao bean. Make sure you stop off at the chocolate fountain and enjoy a chocolate covered waffle.

You can also expand your mind as well as your waistline as you learn a bit about the history of the very first chocolate worshippers, the Olmecs, Maya and Aztecs.  If that is not enough chocolate for you, there is always the choco-shop where you can find anything from a 300 gram solid chocolate Cathedral to a 3.5 kilogram chocolate Father Christmas as well as well known favourites such as Lindt.

If you feel the need to walk off all that chocolate stroll around the medieval streets of Cologne’s Old Town or wander along the picturesque banks of the beautiful River Rhine.

Indulge in a trip to Cologne with Railbookers and stay at the spacious 4* Jolly Hotel from just £189 for 2 nights accommodation including breakfast and return train travel.
