Press Release: Bright Lights Big City
Tuesday 9th October 2007
Visit Berlin between 16-28 October for an illuminating view of Germany’s capital. The Berlin Festival of Lights will see this cosmopolitan city lit up like a Christmas tree with all of the city’s most important landmarks taking centre stage in this magical festival.
The historic Brandenburg Gate, the magnificent Berlin Cathedral and the futuristic TV Tower are just a few of the Berlin sights and attractions set to be framed by light, projections and fireworks. In addition to these dramatic displays there will be a number of events exploring the subject of light. Light up your evenings and join one of the special Lightseeing-Tours set up so that visitors can experience all the illuminations.
There are a number of dates not to miss during the 13 days of festivities: the 16th of October when the Festival of Lights starts off with a bang with a cacophony of laser, music and fireworks from 10 pm onwards, and the 20th October, a particularly special night known as the “Night of Open Doors” when many of the illuminated buildings will be holding special events until midnight.
