For those who appreciate the finer things in life the annual Madrid Art Fair or Feriarte is the perfect opportunity to peruse and purchase stunning works of art and antiques.

Now in its 31st year the fair offer visitors the opportunity to pick up anything from jewellery to sculptures to furniture in a range of styles such as Art Deco and Art Nouveau, amongst others.  All the pieces on sale have been examined by a committee of experts to ensure quality and authenticity. The fair runs from 17th November – 25th November and tickets can be brought on the door at a cost of 9 euros. Opening hours are 12 noon to 9 pm daily. The fair can be found in Pavilions 12 and 14 of the IFEMA Feria de Madrid.

Do some pre-fair research and take your pick from Madrid’s many art galleries and museums. Explore the Spanish Masters in The Prado Museum, muse over Picasso’s “Guernica” in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia or reflect on Van Gogh, Monet and Rubens at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

Eurostar trains will be running from London St Pancras from 14 November 2007.
Average journey times will be cut by between 23 - 25 minutes.

Additional Eurostar services will be running from Ebbsfleet (just off Junction 2 of the M25) from 19 November 2007.
