Opening of the Lotschberg Tunnel

Travel from Basel, Bern or Zürich is set to become much faster with the opening of the Lotschberg Base Tunnel in the Valais region of Switzerland on December 9th. Passing through the world's largest on-land rail tunnel will reduce the journey time between Basel and Zermatt by 72 minutes.
