Visit Berlin and support a good cause
29th July 2008
The Berlin Marathon takes place on September 28th and Railbookers is giving travellers the opportunity to go to the German capital and enjoy the atmosphere of the big event.
In addition, those travelling to Berlin will be able to do their bit for a good cause. Railbookers' sporty sales consultant Gareth Jones will be running in the race on behalf of the World Cancer Research Fund.
For every two-night break to Berlin booked before September, Railbookers will sponsor Gareth £10.
More than 40,000 athletes will set off on what is the world's fastest marathon course, while a million spectators are expected to come and cheer them on. There will also be live music and a great atmosphere at this year's event.
The 42-kilometre Berlin Marathon is now in its 35th year and takes in some of the historic sights of the city including the Reichstag parliament building, the bustling Potsdamer Platz and the iconic Brandenburg Gates.
Other highlights include the remnants of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of Berlin.
